Quilted maple wood, also referred to as pillowed or curly maple, was salvaged from the Thomas Edison Furniture Factory in New London, WI, hand-selected and set aside for this one-of-a-kind, heirloom piece because of it’s excellent figuring and movement in the grain. Quilted maple is highly sought after for musical instruments by high-end wood workers and artisans. This piece has excellent color variation range. It is naturally organic, and bursting with character without any effort, the collage of old wood is always a masterpiece, inspired by mother nature’s true beauty. The natural, gentle cup was embraced to create a board capable of handling juices from meats, olives, fruits, etc with purposeful edging to contain crumbs. Handle conforms to grip with a smooth, aged quality while shoulders curve gently in a worn timeless embrace. The bottom staves elevate for easy placement without pinching fingers and toppling of food, slides easily and sits level. Display front or back, hanging or leaning. Food safe butcher block finish.

Measures 33” x 13 ¼"
